A leading manufacturer of Luxury car maker, Mercedes-Benz showcased its new CLA 4-door Coupe at the New York International Auto Show. Mercedes-Benz is relying on the CLA to help it meet corporate average fuel economy standards. It is taken great pains to make the car as efficient as possible, they’ve largely paid off, with a 30-mpg combined rating for the standard CLA250 model.
The CLA is now the third-most-popular Mercedes sedan, according to automotive website Autoxpedia and its sales in 2015 were up by 8 percent over the previous year. For the new 2017 model year, the CLA gets a mild mid-cycle freshening, but unless you are a Mercedes-Benz savant, you will have to look twice to see the differences.
Full-LED headlamps are optional, while the taillights adopt a slightly horizontal shape. There are a new wheel designs and new bumpers and lighting units appear on the Mercedes-AMG CLA45.
The new CLA now offers as standard an automatic emergency-braking system known as Active Brake Assist (ABA) previously called Collision Prevention Assist Plus, and a back view camera also joins the standard-equipment list. Additionally, cars equipped with proximity entry and engine-start (Mercedes calls this Keyless Go), waving your foot under the back bumper can open the trunk.
Mercedes-Benz will continue to provides the CLA250 model with front- and 4MATIC all-wheel drive; power comes from the 208-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder, internally called M270.
The facelifted CLA will be displayed at the New York auto show 2016 and launched this fall for the 2017 model year. we expect that the pricing to stay close to that of the current model.
